Magical days

A veces uno sale y descubre que hay magia desparramada por todos lados. (O: caen diez cm de nieve en dos horas y vas a deslizarte por la colina del parque más cercano.)

Sometimes you go out and discover there is magic spread everywhere. (Or: ten cm of snow fall in two hours and you go and slide down the hill in the nearest park.)

Otras veces uno vuelve a casa y se encuentra con que la magia se ha instalado en su living. (O: tu cuñada violinista viene con un grupo de música transilvana que toca hasta la madrugada.)

PD: un GRACIAS enorme a Etsy y todos lo que apoyaron/compraron/siguieron Sweet Beastiary por un inesperadamente maravilloso primer año (!). Ustedes significan más que cualquier número para mí. Ahora estoy cerrando la tienda hasta el 2 de enero. Feliz Navidad para todos!


Other times you get home and find that magic has settled into your living room. (Or: your violinist sister-in-law comes with a Transylvanian music group that play until the early morning.)
PS: A big THANKS to Etsy and all Sweet Bestiary’s supporters/customers/followers for an unexpectedly amazing first year (!). You mean more to me than any numbers! I’m closing my shop until January 2nd now. Merry Christmas to everyone! 

At last!

Este post debería haber salido el lunes, pero ésta ha sido la semana más ocupada en mi tienda desde que la abrí. Todo porque tuve la suerte de que Etsy eligiera my broche conejo verdadero para ilustrar el “stocking stuffers showcase”  (algo así como una selección de items para regalar en Navidad).  Fue quizás una compensación del Universo, porque la famosa feria no fue precisamente un éxito financiero.  Sí humano: fue muy lindo verle la cara a la gente cuando se acercaba a mi bestiario, y escuchar todos esos “ohhhhh...” y “ahhhh...”.  Ah, y también tuve un asistente de lujo, que me hizo reír toda la tarde. En esta foto pueden ver un poquito del stand:

I’ve should have posted this last Monday but this has been the busiest week since I opened my online shop. I was lucky enough for Etsy to select my real bunny brooch to illustrate the 'stocking stuffers' showcase. Maybe it was compensation from the Universe, because the much-vaunted craft fair wasn’t exactly a financial success. But it was in human terms: it was so nice to see people’s faces when they approached my bestiary and to listen all those “ohhhhh...”s and “ahhhhh...”s. Oh, and I also have a deluxe assistant who made me laugh the whole afternoon.  In this picture you can see a bit of the stall:
